BCSOT’s Special Interest Groups provide a forum for sharing expertise and experience in occupational therapy in British Columbia in particular areas of professional interest. The groups act as specialist resources to BCSOT and assist BCSOT to address members’ needs who work in these areas.
Special Interest Groups provide opportunities for province-wide networking, information exchange, and resource sharing for occupational therapists through meetings, newsletters, document sharing. They promote and facilitate continuing education through regular informal educational events or conferences and publications.
Special Interest Groups work with in partnership with other BCSOT groups on common issues and to communicate with other BCSOT activists on issues that impact their specifc areas of practice.
BCSOT’s Special Interest Groups are open to all BCSOT members. Non-member occupational therapists are welcome to attend but a registration fee is applied. Other regulated professions may be invited from time to time to participate in specific Special Interest Group events.
BCSOT currently supports eight Special Interest Groups and will support members to develop groups in any other areas of professional interest.
If you are interested in chairing a Special Interest Group that is currently not active, please send us an email at info@bcsot.org
